Göteborgs Symfoniker AB is looking for café staff
Göteborgs Symfoniker AB is a wholly owned subsidiary within the Västra Götaland region. The operations are conducted in culturally protected premises at the Concert Hall at Götaplatsen in Gothenburg and is one of the largest cultural institutions in Västra Götaland. The Concert Hall hosts a large number of events annually in the form of concerts and conferences, both organized by us and rented out to external organizers. Concerts with our own orchestra, Göteborgs Symfoniker, constitute the main part of the concert activities. Göteborgs Symfoniker is Sweden's National Orchestra, an orchestra with international brilliance.
Job Description
As café staff at the Concert Hall, you will work in a dynamic environment and be part of creating an unforgettable evening for our visitors. You will meet eager guests, both new visitors and returning guests.
Your tasks include offering our concert guests a simple bar menu consisting of drinks, snacks, and sandwiches before and during the intermission of the concerts. You will be responsible for your own bar, ensuring it is stocked and clean, taking care of our guests, preparing for the intermission, and closing the bar and kitchen at the end of the evening. You will work both alone and as part of a team with colleagues. In addition to being responsible for café sales, you will also assist in evacuating guests in case of an emergency and safely guide the audience out together with the evacuation manager.
Our catering operations have a strong interest in the environment regarding both food and drinks. You can find more about our catering and what we offer on our website. There you can also read about our orchestra and the activities of Göteborgs Symfoniker, which annually attracts over 200,000 visitors. The workplace is located in culturally protected premises at the Concert Hall at Götaplatsen in Gothenburg.
Shifts are usually scheduled in the evenings and on weekends, except for conference shifts which are typically during the day. Shifts are normally 3 - 6 hours long, and you need to be able to work at least two shifts a week.
Qualifications
Applicants should have documented experience in service within the café or restaurant industry. The ability to take initiative and have good teamwork skills is important as our main focus is our guests. This means that you should have a good demeanor and a strong sense of service. We have a diverse audience, so you need to be able to communicate in Swedish, and we prefer candidates who speak multiple languages. You should also be comfortable acting in an emergency situation.
If you have knowledge of food and drinks or experience working with conferences, it is a plus.
Would you like to work in one of Sweden's oldest cultural institutions, provide high-level service, and create a fantastic overall experience for our guests? We warmly welcome your application via this page!
